In their almost 26 years of marriage, Bill and Tina Hallmark have always talked and dreamed of someday owning a lodge or small motel in the mountains
Throughout most of those years, Bill worked various jobs in the oilfields of Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas, worked about 10 years at a chemical / fertilizer plant, and most recently, 8years in the electrical generation business as a supervisor with Western Farmers Electric Cooperative.
Tina worked as a stay at home mom when the kids were little- always able to volunteer for school activities or substitute teach when needed. Then, as the kids grew older, she went to work for the state of Oklahoma as an administrative tech for the Department of Human Services where she had been for the past 8 years.
In the fall of 2018, Bill and Tina finally decided that if they were ever going to realize their dream of mountain life and living a life outside the daily grind of government work and power plant operations, the time was now.
In March of 2019 they purchased the Picketwire Lodge and Store in Stonewall, Colorado, about 30 miles west of Trinidad on scenic highway 12 - the "Highway of Legends".
Picketwire Lodge and Store has a long history with the Stonewall area, and the Hallmarks look forward to bringing their ideas and personal touch to the business, and to serving local residents and seasonal tourists, alike.
Bill and Tina have 2 grown children- Ryan, who lives in San Angelo, TX and is in the gas pipeline business; and Amber who, along with her husband Nick and 2 rowdy sons, raise wheat, milo and cattle in the Oklahoma panhandle.
